In FTL all crew is replacable and expendable in theory which makes losing upto 1/2 your crew in 1 battle awful but winable. Into the breach if a pilot dies you cry and many can rage quite that session becuase there is no replacing them. Destroyng them is like a partial reward but capture is more. FTL you can get rewards for destroying ships but get more for capturing them. Hp, dodge, number of weapons, number of crew, crew stats, best weapons, 4 augment slots and systems ect. FTL is unforgiving with rng but often you have enough types of things you can lose to help negate this. If your ship does not dodge an attack even at 55% dodge thats ok because you will be fired on more than enough times to average it out and make it effective. You die by a thousand cuts more often than catastrophic death (though that can happen). Rarly does your ship get stomped in 1 battle and take 30 damage. This means if you lose a few crew through your adventure it hurts and you cry but you move on. Let me explain how, why and what needs to change.įTL your ship has 30 hp and a max of about 55% dodge and what 8 crew max. Into the breach is an all or nothing game and FTL is not.
